Expand your knowledge on the meticulous craft of entomological pinning with a hands-on learning experience taught by store owner Justin Torone!

Participants will learn how to rehydrate, spread, and pin their very own Monarch Butterfly! All necessary supplies will be provided including:

  • Monarch Butterfly

  • pinning instruments

  • frame + matte

Please note specimens will require a drying period prior to mounting them in the frame provided by us or a vessel of your choosing. Instructions on finishing your specimen will be given at the end of the class.

What does sustainably sourced Monarch mean? Monarch Butterflies are a very important pollinator species that is in declining numbers. The butterflies used for this class DO NOT come from wild populations, but sustainably sourced farms around the world that lend a huge hand to the conservation of this delicate species.
