Kiersten draws inspiration from the natural world, folklore, and the unknown; heavy on the symbolism and delicately working to balance darkness and light. Having experienced the loss of her own beloved cat, Kiersten brings a deep sense of empathy and understanding to her memorial pet portraits. Courtney/VVitching Flower is a Richmond-based silversmith originally from Northern Virginia, who began her metalsmithing journey after taking a class in Washington, DC in 2021. Following the loss of her heart dog, Pao, in 2022, she turned to memorial jewelry as a way to preserve presence, memory, and connection beyond the physical. Creating these pieces became a source of healing and a ritual of remembrance, and she now offers that same space for others navigating loss. With a background in the veterinary field, her work sits at the intersection of grief, love, and preservation.
